Supporting Small Businesses Part 2!

Back in January I did a post where I decided to support small businesses on Etsy, which you can read here, and now i’m back doing it again because it was really fun but this time for I contacted each lovely shop owner and asked them to tell me a little bit about their shop.

One shop I featured in the last post was DorkFaceShop. Jemma’s artwork in amazing and so cute. Since I blogged about her in January, I’ve done at least 2 or 3 other orders because I can never get enough of her work. She recently announced she was pregnant and I send her all the well wishes in the world. When I contacted her, she said; My shop is a colourful collection of prints, homeware, accessories, stationery and so much more! I love to create, and I always try to bring something new and fun to my shop. It means the world to me that I get to express myself and be creative, and it’s so amazing when other people support that too!

A blogger & shop owner I discovered a little while after the first supporting blogger post went up was Ellis. Her shop, called Ellis Woolley, sells extremely cute products like mugs, badges and prints. All of which are super cute and she has some products which advocate being vegan and cruelty-free. When I messaged her, she was so lovely and said: I run Pastel Elixir with my husband James & our two dogs, Custard & Vespa 🙂 we love to create colourful gifts to help make people smile! Being self employed means everything to me as I’m able to do what I love for a living as well work from home and always put my health first, which is something that never happened in previous jobs. One day we hope to grow so that James can do this full time with me!

I have the cutest mug from Ellis’ store along with a tiny doodle notebook and a few badges. I also backed her kickstarter campaign to help bring tote-bags to her store and the design of it is adorable! Her packages are always packed with love, thoughtfulness and care with tissue paper, a personalised thank you note and a little sweetie sugar cane. You can follow Ellis on Instagram.

One other Etsy shop I discovered within the last few months was Tumble and Rose. I found her shop when I was searching for enamel pins on Etsy and found one that described me to a T! Helen, the lady who owns Tumble and Rose, also sells raw crystal rings and some other beautiful products which are so unique. Taken from her about page on Etsy, she says: I’m Helen, and I run Tumble and Rose here on Etsy, a little shop dedicated to all of my crafty adventures. I started making jewellery when I was 11 to sell to my school friends, and haven’t looked back since (& that was over a decade ago…) – I’m always finding new crafts to try and new techniques to fall in love with.

Shopping on Etsy really is my favourite thing to do, especially knowing you’re supporting someones home-grown business. Do you shop on Etsy?

  1. I came across Pastel Elixir recently and immediately made an order, their products are so adorable and Ellis seems so lovely! I love Gemmas work to but am yet to purchase something, I’m really tempted to get a personal commission art drawing done as they’re so cute! Going to check out Tumble and Rose now!

It’s great to come across a blog every once in a while that isn’t the same out of date rehashed information. Wonderful read!
I’ve saved your site and I’m adding your RSS feeds to my Google account.
